The Ugly Duckling Blues

It was hard to feel attractive this week with a scabby-peeling face and decolletage - and the persistent gray skies - and worse of all - with the weight gain while on my stupid diet of counting calories!  My face problem (healing from the sun damage treatment) was enough to make me want to stay home until it was over - then add the bleak weather devoid of real sunshine - and it is a wonder that I made it to Bar Method class everyday!  And I do apologize to my classmates who had to see this ugly duckling!


No doubt that my hours and hours of watching Amazon Prime did not help in the losing weight department - the only activity I did all week was to go to Bar Method class (https://barmethod.com/locations/austin-downtown/) - so thank God for that!  I have been going once a day now for two weeks straight -  and I do feel tighter and stronger - and I think my form in class has improved and I'm taking as many of the challenges during class as possible!  I attained the 20 classes needed to go to the more advanced class and today was my first Bar Move class - it was fun!  The yoga classes unfortunately did not work out for me - it just wasn't the right atmosphere and it wasn't traditional yoga.  So my plan this week is to replace the 3 times a week yoga with 3 walks around the lake.  I am very sensitive to the weather - so let's hope it is nice out so I feel encouraged to take the walks!

I counted calories all week - on Monday and Tuesday I went over the 1400 calorie target - but the rest of the week I was able to stay at 1400 calories a day and the majority of what I am eating is healthy too.  But - depressingly enough I gained 2 pounds - I really hated seeing the scale read 145!

I know I am going through the hardest part right now - sticking to it when I'm not seeing drastic results yet!  But I also know that I have to burn the fat to lose the weight so I can see the lovely toned body that the Bar Method is giving me.  So week 4 - I'm ready for you - going to class everyday - going to keep those calories to a maximum of 1400 and going to get off the couch and increase my activity level so I can drop this unwanted weight!
